Top Chinese leaders deplore Lahore bombing

Say Beijing is opposed to terrorism in all its forms and manifestations

Chinese President Xi Jinpeng and Prime Minister Li Keqiang have condemned the Lahore park bombing and offered their heartfelt condolences to the families of the victims.

The Chinese president, in a condolence message to President Mamnoon Hussain, said he was shocked to learn about the heavy casualties in the March 27 terrorist attack, a message received here on Tuesday said.




He said Beijing was opposed to terrorism in all its forms and manifestations and denounced such terror attacks in the strongest possible terms. The Chinese government firmly supports Pakistan in its fight against terrorism and acknowledges its sacrifices in this regard, President Xi Jinping said.

Chinese Prime Minister Li Keqiang, in his condolence message to Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif, said he was shocked to learn that the terrorist attack in Lahore had killed a number of people, many of whom were women and children. “On behalf of the Chinese government, I would like to extend deep condolences to the families of the deceased and the injured,” he said.

PM Li said China was firmly opposed to all forms of terrorism.
