Veena Malik makes it to Twitter trends

Veena Malik takes Twitterati by storm after the airing of her exclusive interview on Express News.

Veena Malik took Pakistani Twitteratti by storm Friday night, reaching the top ten Twitter trends worldwide following her exclusive interview on Express News' programme "Frontline with Kamran Shahid", after her return to Pakistan from India.

ProPakistani, the Pakistani telecom and IT news website, reported that Veena Malik became the first Pakistani woman ever to trend on Twitter worldwide.

Malik's much controversial participation on the Indian reality TV show "Big Boss 4" had created much debate in Pakistan, with many accusing her of "not representing the Pakistani woman" on an international forum. There had been a surge of shows, articles and statements condemning her participation and performance on "Big Boss 4".

Mentions of Veena Malik on the Twitter timeline on Friday started at 8pm when a private television channel aired a show discussing Malik's participation on "Big Boss 4". The mentions spiked when Express News aired an interview with her at 10pm. While many Twitter users came out voicing their appreciation for the stance she had presented on the show, others condemned Malik for her performance.

If you don’t know its theory I tell you. Crowley wrote a book named the book of law. He said whatever a human want to do, can do, and whatever it do, is a law. Human made its own law and follow it. Crowley is considered to be the world’s most sick minded person. And he said I wrote this book with the direction of devil. Plz read about it in details. He gives the idea of secularism. For God sake in every religion it is been taught that prohibit others who do wrong. This world is very confused about it. I am asking a question, police and court are been established? To prevent people from doing wrong acts and try to save and preserve peace in the world. What Veena did in the screen, had been watched by many people. Her acts seduce the many people. And I don’t know how many people raped or intentionally involved of sex after watching these kind of shows. Don’t you think it is an ethical crime? Women’s rights Bill was rescinded by the government why? Because this may affects the purity of society. Where is the civilization of western countries heading? So, do you want to see their chaos here? Veena has the right to do any any Anything but only within the confine of its room from where nobody else got any seduction from her. Most of the women with the exception of a few are comfortable with her but the male population has a false sense of trying to be in control and being the moral brigade. You all have written a code of behaviors of how Venna should have acted and how you would expect her to act in India. But you forget the fact that Venna is a legal adult, and she does not have to explain herself to anyone specially you! If any one supports Venna then you blast them; what gives you the authority to be judge and jury?. You have no right to tell Venna supporters that they should pass on to their children of the patterns of Veena;s behavior. I think your lambasting @Shireen Khan: or @Sheena is beyond pale. I as a Pakistani woman stand in solidarity with strong women and we will educate, teach and love our daughters in any way we please. You and your Mufti friends cannot and will not tell us what to do, how to act and what to wear. We do not and will not have you judge us, and any others who are using Islam as a wedge to threaten and control Pakistani women are getting a wake up call. Ahsan Butt | 13 years ago | Reply @FOR ASHAN: whenever there is a start of new chaos or perversity in the ambient of a country, we should come forward to stop this and condemn this as much as possible. whatever she did in the front of a camera, no body have done in that show. i am sure u would agree with it. and that guy spoiled her in that program and make a fun of her. what would you get if you indulge your faith in doing some prohibited acts and impress your non-muslim partner and then perform a prayers which is merely a yoga exercise to the other person. Did you get something from this. what we have learned from the Islam that show your prudish and well morale in such a way that the other person impressed by your behaviour and accept Islam. what veena did is exercised that guy on the cost of her eman not her moderate behaviour. But i am agree on this that we should not only condemn veena for this. PEMRA is also equally culprit on this sin as Veena. Take a example for this scenario One day i was looking at a field and watching plant and asking question from myself that what kind of plant this kind and what would be the fruit which out posterity would get. when would i know about that plant? obviously when first fruit of that plant grow up and show the specie of that crop. what if that fruit is of a heroin. Then i come to know the specie of that crop. I would go and pull out all the roots of those plants and try to never grow them up ever. same with this scenario Veena is the fruit not first but a prominent fruit of that plant. so this is showing the kind of crop which belongs to our Pakistani Media. Yes our media is destroying our posterity. Now all of us should cut off the root of that crop not a single fruit. Veena should be condemn but thanks to Veena she marked and show us the real picture of our film industry. now its depend on us how do we take this issue and either go to cut off the roots of this vulgarity. It was not a movie or drama where she can excused herself for all the vulgarity she performed. It was a reality show ,where you 're suppose to show the real you n ur values. If she was treated badly or dis-respectfully there by her Big boss contestant it's that's what she earned through her cheap n vulgarity behavior. This is about people trying to put fatwas on a Pakistani actress because she wore dresses and flirted with a guy. By the way, if you take a look at all the golden old Pakistani films from decades ago, you would see a Pakistani actress dressed in a two piece, singing, dancing, and yes, flirting with a male. Veena was playing to win those viewers over and stay on the show for 84 days. I think that it is an achievement for those who are into those things. Some play online games. Some people watch cricket. And some people watch these silly reality shows. More power to them. Pakistan is one of the most self-righteous countries in the world. Hypocrisy abounds. It took a woman to face the illiterate mullah who did not hesitate issuing fatwas without even witnessing what she might of might not have done. The same thing happened when another mullah "witnessed" against Aasia Bibi to condemn her to death. Well done Veena. More people need to stand up against these illiterate, crazy and very dangerous people.
