Railways: PR earns Rs81.7m by leasing land
The railway land was leased out on both short and long-term basis
ISLAMABAD:
Pakistan Railways has earned Rs81.724 million by leasing out its unutilised land on the Mardan-Dargai section, Khyber-Pakhtunkhwa for various purposes during the last five years. The railway land was leased out on both short and long-term basis, said sources in the Ministry of Railways. Giving the breakdown, they said the land was leased out for agriculture at Rs0.204 million, parking at Rs0.29 million, stacking at Rs2.44 million and markets at Rs6.45 million. The available railway land is leased out in a transparent manner through an open public auction by fixing the benchmark and reserve price after evaluation, they added.
