The swanky new outlet is spread over two spacious levels, the second floor being dedicated to pret and a limited menswear line. It also includes a range of scarves going for Rs950 each. The lower story has pret and an extended basement for unstitched Crescent Lawn. The stitched tunics designed by the brand’s long-time collaborator Faraz Manan range from typical floral prints to quirky designs, starting at Rs2,150 each. But while they offer good value for money and one or two belted options, more variation from the uniform mid-length cuts and silhouettes would have been better.
“We have about 50 to 100 pieces per design because we don’t want everyone to be wearing the same thing. Once the designs finish, we won’t be repeating them,” said CEO Shoaib Shafi. Lawn is one out of the two ranges Manan has designed this year. The one under his own brand remains more luxe while Crescent is lighter and less formal, ranging from Rs5,000 to Rs5,500.
Curtain call: PSFW 2016 bows out
While Manan is renowned for his exquisite bridal pieces, he may not have been able to deliver his aesthetic sense with some of the ready-to-wear options. Nonetheless, the design and décor of the outlet and the overall shopping experience doesn’t fail our expectations.
