PESHAWAR:
An army sentry shot dead a shopkeeper who did not stop at a checkpoint on Warsak Road on Sunday. According to a police official, Khushal Town resident Adnan Khan did not stop for checking when signaled by the sentry. As Adnan sped away, the sentry mistook him for a terrorist and opened fire on him, the official said, adding that the shopkeeper died on spot. Following the incident, Adnan’s relatives and friends blocked Warsak Road and demanded an FIR be registered against the soldier who killed him. The protest was still ongoing by the time this report was filed.
