Whodunit : LESCO workers protest against lawyer (Lahore city )

They blocked the road for an hour and chanted slogans against the lawyers

A number of workers of Lahore Electric Supply Company (LESCO) protested violence against two linemen by lawyers at their office on Ghazi Road on Thursday. They blocked the road for an hour and chanted slogans against the lawyers.


All Pakistan Hyrdo Electric Workers Union zonal chairman Rana Muhammad Akram said the linemen had gone to the sessions court for a hearing of a case by brought LESCO against Sweet Affairs, a restaurant. He said they were beat up by Rashid Lodhi, the lawyer representing Sweet Affairs, and his colleagues after the hearing. An FIR against of the incident names Lodhi has the main perpetrator of the violence.


“Lineman Shahid Khan is still in Mayo Hospital after he was admitted there with injuries from the beating,” he said. Talking to The Express Tribune, Lodhi said the union workers had attacked him first. “They were waiting for me. When I finished my arguments in the case some 80 workers attacked me,” he said.
