KARACHI: An 11-year-old boy wearing a ‘monster mask’ was shot dead by a security guard in Ferozabad area of Karachi late Sunday, police said.

According to SHO Ferozabad, Ghulam Nabi, a private security guard accidentally shot Ali Hassan, who allegedly tried to scare him.

The boy was rushed to the Jinnah hospital where doctors pronounced him dead.

The suspect was taken into police custody and further investigations are underway.

The boy's family came out on Amir Khusro Road and staged a protest over the tragic death of the young boy, Express News reported.

Last year, a teenage boy was killed by police firing in Faisalabad after they had mistaken the 17-year-old for a robber.

Fahad Javaid and his friend were taking pictures of themselves with a toy pistol in a park when police from Peoples Colony police station opened fire on them. As a result, Farhan and Fahad received serious bullet injuries and were shifted to Divisional Headquarters (DHQ) Hospital.

On the complaint of deceased’s father, Muhammad Ali, a case under section 302, 324 and 34 of Pakistan Penal Code (PPC) was registered against SHO Peoples Colony Faryad Hussain and he was arrested.

Now the courts will do exactly the way they spoiled Zain murder case of Lahore and facilitated criminal son of a PMLN politician escape abroad! Remember Divine Justice is not far away!

For those who are siding with the security guard must know that even the police personnel are trained to shoot below the belt in case of even an encounter to injure not to kill and he was just an 11 years old he did not know the consequences and I have seen no security guards with weapons except Banks or some known jewllers through out India and colonies never is Pakistan so dangrous that the security guards out side the houses of rich people are guarding with fatal fire arms.

Guard is not responsible, Security company is responsible, our Govt. authorities which allow these security companies to provide arms to "untrained" guards are responsible. Indeed an Eye–opener for hiring and training of guards.

Why did residents allowed an untrained guard to protect their lives and property? We all wants cheap product but don't take responsibility. The poor guy didn't fall from the sky.

Imagine someone suddenly appears from around the corner, and because they startled the guard he shoots them!!! These idiots need to be trained properly before handing them weapons.

If the young boy was really scaring him then it means the boy used the cover of the night to do that. The guard used the weapon for self defense. Anyway the guard will be from a poor family and will be prosecuted as the security companies led by retired army officers are known to underpay these guards and then leave them alone in the cases like these. And the law of Pakistan is always vigilant for the poor.

Where is common sense? What armed person wouldn't first grab his gun as a reflex? Learn to fear guns and not fool around with those who carry them is a lesson we should all teach our kids.
