LAHORE: Record of all police stations will be computerised by May 15, IGP Mushtaq Sukhera said on Saturday.

He was talking to reporters during a visit to Zakaullah Shaheed Police Lines, Sargodha.

“IT experts have been appointed in most police stations for the purpose of computerisation. More police training schools are also being established for the training of 16,000 policemen,” he said.

He said that the introduction of information technology in policing would help control crime.

He said that Citizen Facilitation Centres were also being set up. “People will be issued driving licences and police verification certificates under the same roof. A Criminal Record Management System is part of the vision,” he said.

Sargodha RPO Zulfikar Hameed, DPO Sohail Chaudhry, SP Bilal Iftikhar, Commissioner Nadim Mehboob and DCO Saqib Mannan were also present.
