PESHAWAR:

University of Engineering (UET) Peshawar Acting Vice Chancellor Professor Dr Iftikhar Hussain said the government’s assistance is necessary to provide foolproof security at all campuses of the institute.

Speaking to the media at UET’s Conference Hall, Hussain assured the varsity took all government-advised steps. These were received in the form of instructions from time to time.

Replying to a question about Jalozai Campus, the vice chancellor said classes in four disciplines had commenced and the quality of education could be gauged from the fact that all have PhDs. However, UET treasurer Naik Muhammad told the media the university has yet only received 55% of the amount required for the construction of the Jalozai Campus.

At the same time, Engineering Faculty Dean Professor Dr Noor Muhammad denied the notion that Jalozai Campus was constructed with the aim to shifting the main campus there.

The vice chancellor ordered the administration to organise a media visit to Jalozai so any doubts over construction work can be eliminated.
