The event was organised by the Pakistan Veterinary Medical Association (PVMA).
“The current year has shown remarkable growth in livestock, dairy, poultry and agriculture sector and the growth rate of 2.9% shows there are vast opportunities in the sector for investors,” said PVMC Chairman Dr Muhammad Arshad, while addressing the closing ceremony. “With proper patronage from the government, as has been done this year, the livestock and dairy sector can do miracles for the country’s economy,” he added.
Also present, eminent scientist Dr Abdul Qadir Khan praised the efforts of the PVMA and said the congress will help the livestock sector grow and ultimately contribute towards Pakistan’s economy. “It is due to the PVMA efforts that the general public is benefitting from low-cost and healthy protein,” he added.
PVMA Secretary Talat Zammen said Pakistan held fourth position in livestock and dairy production in the world. “Looking at the stalls of modern tools, silage, veterinary medicine and technical support, it is easy to conclude that nothing can stop this sector from progressing.
“This congress has attracted both local and international investors and this is a very healthy sign. It proves that farming in the country has been modernised and would help develop the industry in coming days,” said ILDPC Chief Organiser Dr Muzammil Shah.
More than 100 companies and organisations from different sectors i.e. feed, silage, veterinary medicine, breeding, surgical and technical equipment, research and educational institutes participated in the expo.
