This striking Nida Azwer jacket, from their Resort 2016 Collection, is a reflection of the designer’s signature style. The jacket infuses traditional craftsmanship in a modern and contemporary way. The piece is made using pure hand-woven fabrics, primarily opulent silk. It is a sophisticated shade of violet-grey and is digitally embroidered and ornamented using handcrafted embellishments. The jacket is an extremely versatile piece, which makes a statement of its own.

While trends fade, style remains eternal and one piece can be put together in many different ways. In this feature we have three fashionistas showing us how to put together an item from a designers collection, according to their own individual style and taste!

I wore the lovely Nida Azwer jacket as a cape over an all-black, jumpsuit from my own label. The black jumpsuit was long and fitted rather loosely, so adding the embellished jacket gave my over-all ensemble some structure and also added that glamour quotient. I paired my ensemble with Christian Louboutin pumps, which added length. My hair and make-up was done by the extremely talented Beenish Haji of Avenue Salon and Spa, who gave me a simple yet timeless, curly blow-dry. For make-up, she gave me a smoky eye using a brown palette and finished the look with nude lips. I would wear this outfit to an outdoor cocktail party.

This fabulous jacket by Nida Azwer is such a versatile piece that I instantly thought of different ways in which it could be styled. I opted for neutral solid separates from Zara, which complemented the purple and grey hue of the jacket itself. I paired a feminine peplum top with tailored trousers, so this jacket added a lot of edge, creating an absolutely perfect ensemble. I opted to wear the jacket as a cape over my shoulders, as I am fairly petite and did not want to be overshadowed by it. For final touches, I put on heels from Dune and grabbed my Louis Vuitton clutch. I went for a soft blow-dry, and for my make-up I did subtle gold eyes, with a bright pink lipstick to add a pop of colour. This is the perfect outfit to wear to anything from a festive brunch to a formal dinner.

The Nida Azwer jacket is absolutely stunning! Since the structured jacket is heavily embellished with beautiful embroidery, I decided to keep my look simple and allow the jacket to create the drama. I generally prefer slim-fitted silhouettes as I find them to be flattering on me, so I put on the jacket and buttoned it up. I paired it with skinny black pants from H&M, a fitted black tank top, and black and gold stilettos from TopShop. My hair was kept sleek and straight and as for my make-up, I stuck to soft shades. I first applied Mac Studio Finish Concealer with Studio Fix Powder for my skin, topped up with Pink Glow Highlighting Powder from Bobbi Brown on my cheeks and eyes. L’Oreal’s Toasted Almond lipstick completed the look. I think this makes for the perfect outfit to wear to a fusion event or to a formal dinner.
