Cheap fuel: CNG prices dip to 8-year low

Approximately 3.7 million vehicles, equipped with CNG conversion kits, rely on gas across the country

ISLAMABAD: The prices of compressed natural gas (CNG) on Tuesday dipped to Rs41.90 per kilogramme, the lowest in the last eight years, said All Pakistan CNG Association (APCNGA) Chairman Ghiyas Abdullah Paracha on Tuesday.  In a statement, he said CNG would be available at the same rate from Wednesday onwards in Punjab, which was running on re-gasified liquefied natural gas (RLNG). An agreement between Sui Northern Gas Pipelines Limited (SNGPL) and APCNGA has been inked to reduce the price by 5.30 per kilogramme. He said prices had been decreased on the directives of Minister of Petroleum and Natural Resources Shahid Khaqan Abbasi. Approximately 3.7 million vehicles, equipped with CNG conversion kits, rely on gas across the country.
