Monitoring indicators: Punjab government to hold survey

The Punjab government also provided major funding for the survey through the Provincial Annual Development Programme

LAHORE: Punjab government has announced its intention to conduct a multiple indicator cluster survey (MICS) at the Tehsil level to provide a baseline for monitoring progress on sustainable development goals, said Punjab Finance Minister Ayesha Ghaus Pasha on Tuesday. “The objective is to collect statistically sound and internationally comparable data essential for developing policies and programmes and for monitoring progress towards global, national and provincial goals,” Pasha said while addressing the launch ceremony of MICS report Punjab 2014. The Punjab government also provided major funding for the survey through the Provincial Annual Development Programme (ADP) and a moderate contribution by UNICEF was also valued, she added. Pasha disclosed that the Punjab growth strategy is very important and vital for further development of the province.
