Strings has fans in Imran and Avantika

Avantika invites strings to celebrate husband, Imran Khan's birthday bash during honeymoon in Thailand.

KARACHI: Imran Khan’s wife Avantika had something in store for her husband’s birthday. She invited Strings all the way from Pakistan to perform at the post-wedding bash during the couple’s honeymoon in Thailand. For Strings, the trip unveiled the couple’s obsession with the band’s music.

Sharing the details with The Express Tribune, Faisal Kapadia said, “It was loads of fun. The first night was a DJ night and the second night was our concert. We played songs that we don’t perform but for these guys we did. Our concert was right at the beach!”

The couple was accompanied by about 200 guests, said Kapadia.

Bilal Maqsood said, “We did not know that Imran Khan was such a big fan and a bigger fan of our music was Avantika, though they are celebrities in their own right. It was heart warming to see the couple lip-synced songs like ‘Sohniyae’ completely. We performed ‘Pal’ too, Avantika started to cry on this song.”

Maqsood further quoted Khan’s cousin as saying, “These two have grown up listening to your music and they have been your fans for the past eight years, together as a couple.”

Celebrities sighted at the event included Shahana Goswami, Mansoor Khan, Danish Aslam and Kunal Kapoor.
