On duty: Cop shot, injured in Rawalpindi

The police are investigating the case

RAWALPINDI: A constable of Muhafiz squad was shot and injured by unknown assailants in the Mohalla Usman Pura area of Rawalpindi late on Sunday. According to the police, the constable identified as Nazir Ahmed was performing duty when two armed persons turned up on a motorcycle and opened fire on him and injured him. The assailants fled the scene while leaving the constable in a pool of blood. According the police, the cop sustained a bullet in the thigh. The injured was shifted to the district headquarters hospital for medical aid. The police are investigating the case.
