RAWALPINDI:

A teenage girl who set herself ablaze over alleged harsh treatment by her college principal, died at Fauji Foundation Hospital on Saturday evening.

RA, second-year student at Government Fatima Jinnah Women College in Dina, Jehlum, set herself on fire at the college on March 7, causing 85 per cent burns to her body.

Shoaibul Hassan, the girl’s older brother, told The Express Tribune that his sister had died and that the college principal was responsible for her death.

When asked if RA’s family had filed a complaint with police against the principal, Shoaib said his father had already conceded to pressure from the principal, and had agreed to take no legal action against him.

The college principal is said to have admonished RA for writing a letter to the college pointing fingers at the character of two other students.
