Protein Exports: Experts push for Halal foods industry

The system would help eliminate non-Halal items and ensure the availability of Halal food

FAISALABAD: Experts stressed the need to invest in the global Halal market in a bid to boost the country’s share in the international market. The experts were addressing a training workshop on ‘Halal Food’ organised by the National Institute of Food Sciences and Technology, University of Agriculture Faisalabad (UAF). Pakistan National Accreditation Council Director General Ismat Gul Khattak said the country’s share in the international Halal food market could be increased. The state-of-the-art Halal food accreditation system had already been launched which was being copied in many Muslim countries. The system would help eliminate non-Halal items and ensure the availability of Halal food.
