LAHORE: Industries Minister Chaudhry Muhammad Shafiq said on Friday that the Technical Education and Vocational Training Authority (TEVTA) had regularised all of its employees following a directive by Chief Minister Shahbaz Sharif.

The minister made the remarks while addressing newsmen at the Tevta Secretariat.

He said over 4,000 Tevta personnel employed across its 374 institutes province-wide stood to benefit from the development.

Shafiq said all Tevta employees would be given pension and provident fund access among other services following their retirement.

He said ensuring the extension of maximum benefits to public sector employees was the foremost priority of the chief minister.

Shafiq said the authority was a leading public organisation.

He said it could enrich the province’s young. He said the Tevta had been doing a commendable job in striving to train 541,000 youngsters under the government’s Punjab Skills Development Fund by 2018. The minister said the Tevta had been proactively pursuing the set target.

Shafiq said the chief minister had directed all Tevta employees to be regularised after observing the great work done by the authority. He expressed hope that the development would motivate all Tevta employees to further improve service delivery and work with even greater dedication to realise the authority’s aims.

Tevta Chairperson Irfan Qaiser Sheikh said all Tevta employees were grateful to the chief minister for regularising their services. He said all formalities to finalise the regularisation process had been completed.

Now, Sheikh said, the authority had to focus on revamping training standards.

He said this could only be achieved with the complete dedication of Tevta employees.

Sheikh said the historic move to regularise Tevta employees had given them succour and given them an incentive to work even harder.

Tevta COO Jawad Ahmed Qureshi and senior authority officials were also present on the occasion.
