PESHAWAR: The Peshawar High Court has granted bail before arrest to a resident of Rawalpindi who was accused of threatening a serving brigadier and interfering with official duty. A bench comprising Justice Musarrat Hilali – who heard the application filed by Shehryar Chauhan, a resident of Rawalpindi on Friday – also issued a notice to the brigadier and sought a reply from him. The judge was informed that the applicant had a land dispute with Brigadier Salim Sher Jang. Barrister Waqar, who was representing Chauhan, said his client belonged to a respectable family and the brigadier raided his hujra a few days ago and manhandled his domestic staff.
