Many trains were delayed due to technical faults, including the Allama Iqbal train which was delayed by seven hours, the Farid Express which was delayed by three and a half hours, and the Karachi Express which was two and a half hours late.
Family members at the railway station complained after they had to wait many hours to meet passengers.
Earlier, trains had been arriving late in Karachi due to adverse weather conditions. Dense fog in the rest of the country had held up trains for several hours, causing passengers to protest.
