Waste Management: Plans to launch project in Lyari

Minister for Katchi Abadis and Spatial Development says Lyari urgently needs equal distribution of potable water.

KARACHI: Sindh Minister for Katchi Abadis and Spatial Development Engineer Muhammad Rafique advocate said that the government is planning to launch a solid waste management project for Lyari.

The minister was reviewing the work under Lyari Development Package at his office. He urged officials to give more importance to public interest in all development schemes so that the maximum number of people can benefit. Lyari urgently needs equal distribution of potable water. He assured that all proposed schemes will be completed within the stipulated time.

No scheme will be started without proper funds because people will suffer in that case, he added.

A feasibility report for waste and garbage disposal will be prepared soon, he said.

Lyari Development Project director Shafiqur Rehman Paracha stressed upon the officers to monitor all development projects for public interest and complete them within the stipulated period.
