A Nigerian national was recovered by the police from Mandani, Charsadda early Wednesday morning.


Police said he was identified as Ibrahim Chakroodi, who was kidnapped for ransom by unidentified men from Chontara area of Rawalpindi. Later, the kidnappers shifted Chakroodi to Charsadda. The Rawalpindi police contacted Charsadda DPO for his help in recovering the victim.


The DPO constituted a police team which raided a house in the area and recovered the abductee. Police also arrested two kidnappers who were identified as Kashmali and Babar Zaman. An FIR was registered against them.


On February 27, the East Cantt police recovered three Nigerians who were being illegally detained in a house in Sattar Shah Colony, Peshawar. The police received a complaint that three Nigerian nationals identified as S Ben, Okanka and Odozoni had been held in the city for the past four months. They were found after the police raided a house; eight suspects were also arrested.
