Behind bars: Accused rapist of class four student sent to jail

A school teacher, who was arrested on charges of raping and impregnating a fourth-grade student, was produced on Wednesday in a district and sessions court, which remanded him in jail custody for seven days.

The suspect, identified as Muzafar Mirani, was arrested on charges of repeatedly raping his student, R*, and impregnating her. Mirani is a teacher at Government Primary School, Nauabad. The medical report of the 13-year-old girl confirmed the rape and pregnancy on Tuesday.

Mirani was produced before the third judicial magistrate, Larkana. After hearing the case, the judge sent him into seven day remand, revealed Hatri Ghulam Shah police station SHO Muhammad Urs Noonari.

R*’s uncle, Ghulam Hussain Kalhoro, while talking to The Express Tribune shared his niece’s story. One day, R* requested her teacher to give new text books are her old books were torn to pieces. Mirani asked her to wait till school was off.

After students and staff left, Mirani took R* to a room and raped her on gunpoint. The teacher also threatened her to keep quiet or he will kill her parents.
