The Metro Bus Service remained suspended until 5pm on Thursday owing to security reasons.
Punjab Mass-transit Authority (PMA) Operations General Manager Syed Uzair Shah the service was restored at 5pm between Gajju Matta and MAO College.
He said the district administration had requested the authority to suspend the service.
A senior district official said the service had been suspended as the government was expecting protest rallies in Shahdara.
Some troublemakers had damaged glass structure and stolen some fans and CCTV cameras from Azadi Chowk, Bhati Gate and Shahdara terminals on Monday.
Some of them had pelted metro buses with stones, damaging windows and the side of the vehicles.
Onboard units used to monitor bus operations were stolen too. Speed gates at the three stations were also broken.
