At the top: GCU athlete sets new record

The record was set at the All Pakistan Inter-Universities Championship 2016 being held by the HEC

LAHORE: An athlete from the Government College University (GCU) Lahore, Muhammad Ramazan, has set a new inter-university record in the 5,000 meter race. The record was set at the All Pakistan Inter-Universities Championship 2016 being held by the Higher Education Commission (HEC). According to a statement issued on Wednesday, 36 universities are participating in the championship being held at the Peshawar University, Khyber Pakhtunkhwa. Muhammad Ramazan finished the race in 16:20 minutes and secured the gold medal. Vice Chancellor Prof Dr Hassan Amir Shah and Sports Director Khadim Ali Khan have congratulated Muhammad Ramazan on his extraordinary performance in the championship.
