An Iranian photographer is taking viewers through the architectural history of mosques in Iran and the results are absolutely breathtaking.

Photographer, Mehrdad, who goes by the username m1rasoulifard, uses Instagram to showcase brilliant photos that he takes of mosque ceilings and has gained quite a number of followers who enjoy the visual treats.

Belgian photographer challenges mindsets about Islam

Photography is banned in most of these historical sites, some of them around 900 years old, which makes these sneaky pictures all the more attractive.
