Rawat rape-murder case: Court charge sheets four suspects

RAWALPINDI: A local court on Monday charged four suspects after a woman was allegedly raped and murdered within the jurisdiction of Rawat Police Station in November last year. Police said the 24-year-old *woman was allegedly thrown out of the window of an apartment building after being raped on November 21. Police had arrested four suspects --- Umair, Izhar Shah, Mateen and Naveed --- in connection with the crime. Special magistrate Awais Khan Niazi on Monday charged the suspects with rape and murder. The accused, however, denied the charges. The court has summoned witnesses on March 12.  *VICTIM’S NAME WITHHELD TO PROTECT IDENTITY
