Conviction: Three awarded life sentence in Swabi

The court released Javed by giving him the benefit of doubt, while Asghar was deemed a fugitive in the case

SWABI:


Additional Session Judge Malik Amjad Rahim awarded life imprisonment to three people convicted of murder. An accomplice to the accused was declared a fugitive, while another was released on insufficient evidence.


The prosecution told the court that in June 2011, Jehan Zada, Amjad, Sohbat Khan, Javed and Asghar killed Muhammad Haroon in Swabi. His body was found in a car at Marghaz village, Malakand.


However, the police arrested four of them and presented a challan before the court.


After examining the evidence and hearing the testimony of the witnesses, the judge awarded a life imprisonment sentence to Jehan Zada, Amjad and Sohbat Khan and ordered them to pay Rs0.1 million as compensation to the heirs of the deceased.


The court released
Javed by giving him the benefit of doubt, while Asghar was deemed a fugitive in the case.
