Behind Bars: Police arrest jeweller on robbery charges

Sarrafa Association president Mehtab Ali Shaikh told the media that the association will take action against him

SUKKUR: Larkana police arrested on Monday evening a jeweller for his alleged involvement in stealing gold from a shop in Shahi Bazaar a week ago. Thieves broke the lock of a jewellery shop and stole gold ornaments worth Rs6.2 million. The shop owner, Abdul Jabbar Shaikh, registered a FIR at the Market police station. The police arrested a jeweller, identified as Noorul Haq Shaikh, for his involvement in the robbery. According to the police, Noorul Haq confessed to his crime and returned Rs3.5 million. He promised to return the remaining amount soon. The suspect is notorious for purchasing and selling stolen gold and has been arrested twice before. Sarrafa Association president Mehtab Ali Shaikh told the media that the association will take action against him.
