MQM chief booked for 'sex education' speech

Published: February 28, 2016

KARACHI: A case has been registered against Muttahida Qaumi Movement (MQM) chief Altaf Hussain by a woman against his speech on sex education, police said Saturday.

MQM chief had been filmed giving the controversial speech to workers in Karachi via phone from London, according to police.

A woman who saw the footage online of the alleged talk alerted police, who have now filed a case against Hussain.

Altaf media ban: Jahangir refuses written apology for ‘critical’ remarks

“We have registered a case against Altaf Hussain and 20 of his party colleagues under the charges of publicly uttering immodest words after a woman named as Nasreen filed an application against them,” Rao Muhammad Anwar, senior superintendent of police in the Malir area of Karachi, told AFP.

In a statement to authorities, Nasreen wrote she had been browsing the internet when she came across the clip of Hussain, addressing a mixed group of staff.

“He was publicly telling the women about the sexual contact between male and female and his party workers were also repeating his words. It seems that he was intoxicated,” she said.

Anwar said other MQM leaders, including members of parliament and the party’s candidate for Karachi mayor, were facing investigation over allegations such as organising the meeting and repeating Hussain’s words.

But a spokesperson for MQM hit back, saying the investigation was unconstitutional.

“Our party is a law abiding party which believes in peaceful struggle and these kind of cases against party leadership is against the constitution of the country. We will face it in the court,” said Amin ul Haq, who is also named in the case.

The party refused to comment on the accusations.

Talking publicly about sex is taboo in Pakistan.

The MQM, which is run by Hussain from London, is the main political party in Karachi, a city of 20 million.

It represents an ethnic migrant community and is the fourth largest party in the lower house of parliament with 23 members. But it has long been blamed for ethnic violence in Karachi and has clashed repeatedly with the authorities.

It was not not sex education, it was just example that the society need. Every one can see the worse consequences of lack of sex education. So it would be better to think around rather making a drama.Recommend

What a great nation whose citizens are outraged by sex education but stay mum about leaders carrying on with illegitimate extramarital relationships, fathering illegitimate children, raping young girls and boys, murdering and then openly confessing to those murders. Pity this nation of bigots. Pity it’s leaders.Recommend

So in Pakistan you get an FIR booked on you when u soeak in facts of life, but when you challenge the state and publicly call for jihad against state kill army men all right in the heart of the capital you get to roam free. Or if you refer to the terrorists as SHAHEED and the army Jawans as oppressors then u get to roam free, when a man comes to court to record his statement with 50 arm gaurds and clearly instructs them if any police ofdicer comes to arrest him directly gun him down, not to mention publically supporting a known terrorist and publically acxepting that he gave the terrorist arms and ammunition to attack political opposition he also get to roam free. No wonder Pakistan is in this state.Recommend

I don’t see any benefits of him giving the speech except it’s entertainment value!
I really don’t see how a woman could be offended, obviously she is trying to get a small pay day out of this. Naseen needs to get a life, people have sex, you are a by product of sex which also happens to be a lot of fun, live with it and this really isn’t a news story.

After reading the News about MQM being framed by a lady called Nasreen because shee saw a VDO of Altaf Hussain where he was discussing about sex education. This is rediculas, police is making mokery of Pakistani Law. Any tom diken harry wants to put some one in trouble, they use the help of Police officer whose record is already doubtful and who anti MQM. This situation is not benefitting our country at all instead it generating against each other. PM says he wants peaceful Karachi, if he really wants peace in Karachi then he must act accordingly and cities problems, and stop double standards , stop harasment to Karachi’s main part and provide justice to the people of Karachi.

Let the city government start functioning, so that civic situation is improved, people of group stop collecting rubbish at CM’s house.

Allah save our country from these wrong kind of people, politicians and government, these people are afraid to visit police stations for reporting crimes, thefts etc because they themselves get trouble from police or the criminals. No one is there to protect the innocent people except Allah.Recommend

When your guests come to visit do you start a lecture about toilet habits?
Or do you start with sex education?
How about discussing child birth with your guests?
Altaf Hussain is a “political leader”,i use that term loosely.
He is a not a sex educationalist.
I bet you will not dare to use the same language with your guests or your parents ,yet here you are defending Altaf Bhai.Recommend
