LOS ANGELES: Adele may have wept all day, following her shaky performance at the Grammy Awards last week. But the British songstress has reclaimed the top spot on the Billboard 200 weekly album charts, as demand for her latest album 25 remains strong, even three months after release. The hit record climbed back up from no. 2, after clocking a further 151,000 units across song and album sales and streaming activity, as per figures from Nielsen SoundScan.

Till date, 25 has sole 8.3 million copies in the United States alone. It features the song All I Ask, which Adele sang at the Grammys. Unfortunately, the performance was marred by technical issues, when a microphone fell onto the piano’s strings and the singer uncharacteristically hit sharp and flat notes whilst singing. A couple of days later, Adele appeared on the Ellen DeGeneres Show and gave a flawless rendition of the song, accompanied by a candid interview where she admitted to being “so embarrassed” and having cried “pretty much all day” after the Grammys.

Other performers that experienced a boost in the top 10 of the Billboard chart include Canadian pop icon Justin Bieber, who won his first Grammy and climbed up three spots to No 2 with his album, Purpose. Country musician Chris Stapleton picked up four Grammys and jumped from No 11 to No 4 with Traveller while The Weeknd’s Beauty Behind the Madness also jumped up to No 6 after the RnB star won two trophies. Superstar Taylor Swift climbed up to No 8 for her album 1989, after winning the much coveted Album of the Year award. The only new entry to crack into the top 10 this week was Hymns by country music couple, Joey and Rory, which peaked at No 4.

As far as the Digital Songs chart goes, Flo Rida’s My House has held the top spot for a second week, with 135,000 copies sold online.
