The government will use its resources to promote Balochi handicrafts at international forums so that the women artisans of Balochistan can sell their products in foreign markets, Benazir Income Support Programme (BISP) chief Marvi Memon said.
The ultimate benefit of a handicraft sale in international markets will go to the women who make them, she told BISP beneficiaries in Gwadar.
Marvi said that as many as 26,545 people are reaping the benefits of BISP in Makran division alone.
Health Minister Rehmat Saleh Baloch, senior officials of BISP, and representatives of local bodies, among others, were present at the occasion.
Marvi said that economic support through BISP makes women an empowered member of society. She advised the women whose cards have been lost, damaged or cancelled should get themselves registered in the new list of deserving women by showing their original CNICs.
