Conviction: Life term awarded in murder case

Additional Sessions Judge Muhammad Yaqoob on Saturday awarded life imprisonment to a man he convicted of murder. Prosecution told the court that Abdul Waheed Shah and his accomplice Abdus Shakoor Shah had stabbed their friend Asif Munawwar after an argument. After examining the evidence and hearing the witnesses, the judge awarded life imprisonment to Abdul Waheed Shah under Section 302-B of the Pakistan Penal Code (PPC). The convict was also directed to pay Rs100,000 as compensation to heirs of the deceased. He will have to undergo an additional imprisonment of six months if he fails to pay the compensation.
