Lightning strike kills seven in Khushab

KHUSHAB: At least seven people, including four women and two children were killed Saturday when lightning struck their two-storey house near Purana Chowk area in Punjab's Khushab district, Express News reported.

At least seven people of the same family were killed while six others were injured when the house collapsed after being struck. The family was trapped under debris.

Lightning kills six in Balochistan

According to initial reports, the injured were immediately shifted to Civil Hospital for treatment.

The family members killed in the incident have been identified as Mohammad Rauf, Razia, Kinza Khalida, Farooq and Abdul Rauf.

In October last year, at least six people, including three children, were killed and four others injured after lightning struck their houses in two separate areas of Harnai and Loralai districts of Balochistan.

The house of Malik Shahjahan Tareen in Wam Tangi area of Harnai caught fire after it was hit by lightning, resulting in deaths of three minor girls present inside the house, sources told The Express Tribune.
