Bad Deal: Suit filed against cell-phone dealer

He requested the court to direct Altaf to pay him Rs300,000 in damages

LAHORE: A consumer court on Friday fixed for preliminary arguments a Rs300,000 suit filed against a cell-phone  dealer for selling a defective cell phone to the petitioner. Muhammad Sadiq submitted that that he had purchased a cell phone for Rs12,000 from Altaf of Shahdara. He said Altaf had told him that he would be responsible in case the handset did not work properly. He said a few days later, the phone had stopped working and that when he took him to Altaf he refused to replace it or return the money. He requested the court to direct Altaf to pay him Rs300,000 in damages.
