School security: Special squad being raised to protect institutes

An educational squad consisting of 50 members would perform security duties around educational institutions in the city and cantonment areas, District Coordination Officer, (DCO) Sajid Zafar Dall said on Thursday.


Talking to APP, the DCO said with the collaboration of civil defence and district police a 500-member E-squad including 30 male and 20 female personnel would be recruited to perform duties in the city.

Those selected will be trained in Police Lines Rawalpindi.

The aspirants are advised to submit their forms in the office of District Officer, Civil Defence, Near Commissioner Office, Rawalpindi, by 3pm on February, 23.

Security of all education institutes in the twin cities have been beefed up in the wake of the terrorists attack on the Bacha Khan University in Charsadda last month.

At least 22 people were killed as terrorists armed with ammunition and bombs targeted Bacha Khan University in Charsadda, Khyber-Pakhtunkhwa (K-P) on January 20.
