Acting governor reviews law and order

CM, IGP and tribal political agents at high-level huddle

PESHAWAR: Acting K-P Governor Asad Qaiser reviewed the law and order situation in Federally Administered Tribal Areas (Fata) and said anti-state elements will be brought to their logical end.

This was stated in a handout issued from the Governor House on Wednesday.

The meeting presided over by Qaiser reviewed extortion, terrorism, and law and order in Fata and Khyber-Pakhtunkhwa. The participants also examined steps to be taken against rising extortion in the province.



According to the handout, the acting governor directed the heads of law-enforcement agencies (LEA) to ensure elimination of extortion and terrorism. It was decided to deal with anti-state elements with measures, which hit their networks before they can fulfill their nefarious designs.

The acting governor appreciated the efforts of LEAs, and people of the province and Fata. “The sacrifices rendered by LEAs will be written in golden words – they will not go to waste as peace will be restored in the region and the entire country,” the handout quoted Qaiser as saying.

Chief Minister Pervez Khattak, Chief Secretary Amjid Ali Khan, IGP Nasir Durrani, FATA Additional Chief Secretary Aslam Kamboh, Home Secretary Munir Azam and political agents of all tribal agencies were present at the meeting.
