SIALKOT:

Australian High Commissioner in Pakistan Margaret Adamson has stressed the need for making all-out efforts to boost trade ties between the two countries.

Speaking at a meeting with exporters at the Sialkot Chamber of Commerce and Industry (SCCI), she said both Australia and Pakistan had been enjoying cordial trade relations and now the time was ripe to further strengthen those ties.

“There is a huge scope for promoting cooperation with Pakistan especially in agriculture and education,” she said and offered some direct trade opportunities to the Sialkot business community besides pledging support and technical assistance to ensure easy access to the markets of Australia and Europe (through Australia).

SCCI President Mansur Ahmed said there was a huge scope for quality products of Sialkot to be exported to Australia. “Bilateral trade between Pakistan and Australia is stable and the volume remained over $600 million in 2015.”
