According to the ISPR statement, matters of mutual interest, including measures to improve security along the Pakistan-Afghanistan border were discussed during the meeting.
Pakistan, Afghanistan to take action against armed groups not joining peace process
Earlier on Wednesday, while chairing a meeting of corps commanders, army chief said terrorists were being funded externally by hostile intelligence agencies and had their sympathisers at home who provide them shelter and refuge.
Both Pakistan and Afghanistan have agreed to take action against elements hampering the Afghan peace process.
