Non Maintainable: Plea against ESA in PIA dismissed
Justice Shahid Waheed observed that the petition was not maintainable
LAHORE:
Lahore High Court on Monday dismissed a petition seeking setting aside of the imposition of the Essential Services Maintenance Act of 1952 under which trade union activities were outlawed in the Pakistan International Airline (PIA). Justice Shahid Waheed observed that the petition was not maintainable because without any association with a workers’ confederation the petitioner was not qualified to plead the case in a court of law. He also observed that the impugned government notification on imposition of the act was not attached with the petition.
