Benazir assassination case: Court re-summons Rehman Malik

ATC has recorded testimonies of all police officials in the case.

RAWALPINDI: An anti-terrorism court (ATC) on Monday re-issued summons for former interior minister Rehman Malik in the Benazir assassination case. ATC judge Rai Muhammad Ayub Khan Marth has directed Malik to appear before the court tomorrow (Wednesday) for testimony in the case.

Earlier, the court had summoned Malik to testify in the case on February 8 but the former PPP minister failed to appear in the court.

The court has now also directed the Federal Investigation Agency to ensure Malik’s presence in the court.

Malik is listed in the calendar of prosecution witnesses provided to the trial court by the FIA.

The court issued summons to Malik on the request of a special public prosecutor.

The court has also summoned SSP Waqar Chohan, who is one of the prosecution witnesses in the case.

The court has recorded statements of all members of a police joint investigation team that investigated the former prime minister’s death.
