‘Aashiqui 2’ couple to reprise screens

Aditya Roy Kapoor and Shraddha Kapoor will be seen together in ‘OK Janu’

Aditya Roy Kapoor, who was last seen romancing Shraddha Kapoor in Aashiqui 2, has teamed up with the actor once again for Ok Janu.  Speaking about their upcoming film, Aditya dubbed it as the right project for the duo to be roped in for.

“I think it’s great that people have accepted us. I think OK Janu is the right movie for us to come back together. I think both of us are suited for these two roles. I’m very excited to be back with Shraddha because it’s a great project for us both,” Aditya said in an interview. OK Janu revolves around the lives of two young lovers and depicts the issue of live-in relationships.

While Aditya remains currently busy promoting his film Fitoor, Shraddha is elated over the success of her romantic track Sun Saathiya, which has received 30 million views on YouTube. “I was pleasantly surprised and very happy to know that Sun Saathiya crossed 30 million views. It is one song that will forever remain very close to my heart because of all the effort that went into it,” Shraddha said in a statement. On the acting front, she is prepping for her role in Rock On!!2 and Baaghi.





The actor also took to Twitter to share her happiness. She wrote, “30 million views on #SunSaathiya @remodsouza @Varun_dvn! Thank you for the loving and dancing!” Last year, Shraddha won rave reviews for her exceptional dancing skills in ABCD 2 as well.

Aditya will be seen in an intense love story, Fitoor, which is scheduled to release this week. The actor drew similarities between the characters of both Aashiqui 2 and Fitoor. “Rahul Jaykar, my character in Aashiqui 2 was a talented musician battling his demons. On the other hand, Noor Nizami, my character in Fitoor, is an artist who spends his entire life in pursuit of the love of his muse, Firdaus,” Aditya shared.



“He is a wonderfully intense, obsessive and passionate character and the process of playing him was an incredibly fulfilling experience for me. If Rahul’s character was loved by the youth for his selflessness in love, I believe Noor will be loved for his intensity and all-consuming passion,” Aditya said in a statement.

After facing failure with films such as Action Replayy and London Dreams, Aditya’s career took off post Aashiqui 2. Actor Katrina Kaif will be seen as his love interest in the film that is an adaptation of Charles Dickens’s novel, Great Expectations.

The team of the film has emphasised that the story takes inspiration from the novel, but presents it in a new mould. Co-produced by Siddharth Roy Kapur and Abhishek Kapoor, the film will hit cinema screens on February 12.
