Grand operation: Over 170 beggars nab in Rawalpindi

CTO Rawalpindi said that 79 beggar children netted from city roads were handed over to Child Protection Bureau

RAWALPINDI: City Traffic Police (CTP) have netted 176 beggars from main city roads during ongoing grand operation launched in January while 95 cases have been registered against the professional beggars. According to Chief Traffic Officer (CTO) Rawalpindi, Shoaib Khurram Janbaz, the cases have been registered in various police stations of the city. He said that CTP is trying to eliminate the begging from city roads and during its efforts as many as 176 beggars were rounded up and handed over to district police during the period. He said that 79 beggar children netted from city roads were handed over to Child Protection Bureau (CPB).
