People spotted an active improvised explosive device planted near the crowded Behram Market and called the police. The bomb disposal unit was called in, said SP Cantt.
According BDU AIG Shafqat Malik, the devise was remote controlled and contained six kilogrammes of explosives. His team managed to defuse it safely.

On January 26, a child was handed a pressure cooker bomb to take home. According to his father Ibrahim, unidentified persons handed over a pressure cooker to one of his children and directed him to place it in the house, “in Ahmad’s room”.
He further stated in his FIR, filed with Faqirabad police station, “When women present at the house opened the cooker, they found cables and explosive device as well as a pamphlet in which ‘they’ demanded money.”
Ibrahim added they immediately informed the police and BDU which neutralised the device successfully.
