Grade-17 to 18: DPC meeting to consider officers’ promotion

A meeting of the Departmental Promotion Committee for the promotion of officers of grade 17 to grade 18 will be held on Wednesday, February 3.


According to officials in the Establishment Division, a pre-board meeting was held on Monday where cases of officers being considered for promotion were finalised.

Details available say that the annual confidential reports of all the officers being considered for grade 18 in the 38th Common Group have already been received by the division. The pre-board meeting discussed credentials of all the officers being promoted or considered for the promotion on January 14.

According to the details, a panel of 84 officers will be considered for the 200 posts of District Management Group, while for 40 posts of the Police Service of Pakistan around 39 bureaucrats will be discussed by the board. Similarly, for 134 posts in the Office Management Group around 94 officers are on the promotion list.

The officers in question have completed a minimum of five years in their respective groups while several officers of 39 Common Group are also likely to be promoted to grade 18. For the board secretary services of all provinces will attend the meeting along with additional inspectors general of these provinces. The ED’s secretary Nadeem Hasan Asif will chair the meeting.

Amendments

The ED has also notified some amendments to the Revised Promotion Policy, 2007 which was a glitch and the affected officers would seek services tribunals’ help against these decisions. According to the amendments, all promotions based on sub-judice seniority will be subject to the final outcome of the court case.
