“Thar coal was not utilised for a period of 70 years,” the premier said while addressing the business community of Sahiwal on Tuesday. “[The] PML-N is working on development projects, [while] other [political] parties are staging protests."
He was reviewing progress on the country's first 1,320MW coal-fired power plant.
Govt allowed to resume work on coal-fired plant
The coal-fired project is part of the China Pakistan Economic Corridor, and will be operational by the end of 2016.
“A number of development projects would have been completed had [the] PTI not organised a sit-in in Islamabad,” said the premier.
In an attempt to overthrow the government, the PTI had staged a 126-day long sit-in in Islamabad in 2014. Tahirul Qadri's Pakistan Awami Tehreek also took part in the protests.
