Seasonal Influenza: Islamabad hospitals without vaccine

Pindi DHO Dr Rafique Ahmed said though provision of vaccine for patients in Islamabad was not their responsibility

RAWALPINDI: Islamabad public hospitals including PIMS and Polyclinic have no seasonal influenza vaccine, Daily Express has learnt. Seasonal influenza patients who are admitted to these hospitals are told to fetch the vaccine from Rawalpindi health department. Rawalpindi district health officer Dr Rafique Ahmed said though provision of vaccine for patients in Islamabad was not their responsibility they were providing it all patients referred from Islamabad hospitals. Meanwhile, Ahmed said four patients who have test positive for seasonal influenza are currently admitted to Rawalpindi’s Holy Family Hospital.
