ISLAMABAD:
The Sensitive Price Indicator (SPI) for the week ended January 28 registered a decrease of 0.02% over the previous week for the lowest income group. The SPI for the group stood at 207.79 points against 207.83 in the previous week, according to provisional figures released by the Pakistan Bureau of Statistics. The SPI for the combined income group increased 0.06% from 216.97 points in the previous week to 217.09 in the week under review. Compared to the corresponding week of last year, the SPI for the combined income group rose 4.12%. During the week, average prices of 11 items fell in a selected basket of goods, prices of 16 items rose and rates of remaining 26 goods recorded no change.
