Inundated: Sewerage pipeline overflows at Nipa
The overflowing gutters caused traffic jams from Nipa to Sir Syed University
KARACHI:
Parts of University Road at Nipa near Chase supermarket resembled a swimming pool after a sewerage line overflew and the road was inundated on Friday.
According to the spokesperson of the Karachi Water and Sewerage Board, the water board teams reached the spot and started to clear the line.
They arranged all the necessary machinery and started work with the help of jetting machines, he said, adding that heavy flow of traffic made it harder for them to work with full force but they managed the crisis. He told The Express Tribune that the engineers and executive engineers of the water board were also present on the site. However, the overflowing gutters caused traffic jams from Nipa to Sir Syed University.
