GILGIT: Police seized arms and ammunition from various houses in Bargo, on the outskirts of Gilgit, on Tuesday. “Acting on a tip-off from intelligence agencies this morning, police raided a lot of houses today,” a senior official told The Express Tribune. He added the raid was led by ASI Mustafa and supervised by Gilgit SSP. According to the police, weapons seized include hand grenades and other powerful guns which the terrorists had planned to use in the city. “Timely action averted a possible terrorist bid in city,” IGP told the media, after the successful operation, at his office. The IGP also announced promotion for ASI Mustafa who led the operation. The men who owned the houses, however, managed to escape before the operation.
